Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for Distribute

If you are currently selling your data through Narrative’s Distribute, or are beginning the process of onboarding, refer to this list of our most frequently-asked questions.

What data types can I sell through Narrative?

Narrative currently only works with six data types: Location, Digital Consumption, Device Characteristics, Age, Gender, and ID Mapping.

How do I deliver data?

To deliver data to our platform, use your AWS S3 account and your shared Narrative bucket.

What if there’s a company I don’t want to buy my data? i.e. direct competitors

For instances where you don’t want a specific company or companies to have access to buying your data, use the “Blacklist” function in your sell offer(s) on the Distribute Platform. Alternatively, you can be in touch with the Partner Success team about your company nuances.

When do I have to deliver assets to ensure my data goes live on time?

Timelines are based on your company’s delivery cadence choices. For reference, average delivery cadences are currently as follows:

ID Mapping: Daily
Device Characteristics: Daily
Digital Consumption: Daily
Location: Daily
Demographics: Bi-annually

My data delivery failed. What do I do?

In order to make sure your data is available to buyers, you must be adhering to your preferred delivery cadence. If for any reason your data upload is not on schedule, update the partner success team to get things sorted.

What if I only want to sell to one or more specific companies?

For instances where you only want to sell to a specific company or companies to have access to buying your data, use the “Whitelist” function in your sell offer(s) on the Distribute Platform. Alternatively, you can be in touch with the Partner Success team about your company nuances.

What do I do if my team is going to be changing formats of our data?

If data package types that you are currently delivering will be changing in anyway, be sure to follow the Data Ingestion Guide and contact your partner success representative before making any changes to AWS S3 buckets or your current data ingestion process.

What if my team has already uploaded data with changes?

Contact the partner success team immediately. In order to make sure your data is available to buyers, our system must match your current data ingestion settings.

How do I know how much data I have sold before the end of the month?

Distribute Reports is a Narrative platform feature providing you with the ability to access specific information regarding transactions, data types, buyers, volume, and more.

I have a new data package that I want to start selling. What do I do?

In order to get your new data types up and running and in front of potential buyers as soon as possible, follow the Sample Data guide and contact the partner success team to get you started.
