Distribute reports allow data sellers to quickly understand how much they are making from their data monetization strategy. The reports can be broken out by buyers and data packages.
Overview
Distribute Reports allow partners to understand their company's sales both in the Narrative Marketplace and in direct deals.
Distribute Reports
Distribute transactions are measured across two dimensions: earnings and observations.
Earnings: the value of purchased data less marketplace fees.
Observations: the number of events sold to a buyer
Excluded from earnings:
- Direct deals (displayed as $0, though observations are accurate)
- Narrative Platform fees
Earnings and observation count can be viewed overall, by data package type (and buyer), and by buyer
Overall
You can see overall earnings, number of buyers, and observations delivered for your report time range at the top of the page.
Insights are updated daily, with data available up to the previous day. You can change your view by billing period: month, quarter, year, and all-time (starting September 1, 2019).
By Data Type
The main body of the report describes company earnings and observations sold by data type during the report time range.
Clicking "Buyers" will expand each data type you sold during the report time period, revealing a breakdown of earnings and observations delivered to each buyer who purchased from you.
Top Buyers
The bottom of the report shows the 3 buyers with the greatest spend during the report time period. Clicking "See all current buyers" will display the full customer breakdown of spend and observation count for your report time range.
Hovering over a data package icon will display the name of the data package.
