How do I create a Sell Offer?

Creating a sell offer is a simple process of building a data offering in the marketplace with the options of customizing anything from pricing to specific constraints.

In order to sell your data on Narrative's Enterprise Data Stream, you must first create a Sell Offer.

Step 1: Log in

Firstly, be sure you're logged in via under the company account you are associating this Sell Offer with.

Step 2: Sell tab

Next, click the "Sell" tab on the upper left hand side, then select "Offers." This will bring you to your Sell Offers page which holds all your active, inactive, and archived Sell Offers.

Step 3: New Order

Then click "New Order" on the top right hand side to start creating a new offer.

Step 4: Configure Data

Next, select the Data Package Type you will be setting up a Sell Offer for. This ranges from the current eight standard data types offered in the Enterprise Data Stream. You can only choose one data type per Sell Offer.

Once you select your Data Package Type (for example, Digital Consumption) you will have the option to customize your Sell Offer based on specific constraints such as:

  • ID Types
  • Country Code
  • Consumption Type
  • Resource ID
  • Carrier
  • Device Alias
  • User Agent
  • Time
  • IP Address

Selecting these options allows you to create a very specific Sell Offer. For example, if I want to price Digital Consumption from China at a different price than Canada, I would select China under Country Code and create a specific "Digital Consumption - China" Sell Offer.

You have the ability to create specific order for all of the available data constraints. In most cases, data providers create "blanket offers" or an offer that is just generally set up for a Data Package Type with a price and no specific constraints. If you would like to do this, you must leave the configurations/constraints blank.

Step 5: Set Buyers

After either choosing specific configurations/constraints or leaving that section blank, click "Next Step" on the bottom right hand side. You will not have the option to select who can or cannot purchase your data. You have three options to sell to all active buyers, choose specific buyers (Whitelist), or choose buyers who cannot access your data (Blacklist.)

Step 6: Set Yield

Once you select a Company List, press "Next Step" on the bottom right hand side. You will now be prompted to set your pricing for this specific Sell Offer.

Note: Pricing is CPM based for raw records on an Omni-use 30 day license unless specified otherwise.

Step 7: Add Description

Once you have defined your offer pricing, press "Next Step" on the bottom right hand side. You will not be prompted to add a description for your Sell Offer. The Offer Title is required and used to help your team easily differentiate your orders internally, you can also add a description to add more useful information. Both are only visible to you and your team.

Once you have added this information, please be sure to set your activity to one of the following:

  • Active (ready to transact)
  • Inactive (data for this order cannot be sold)

Step 8: Review

After adding your Sell Offer Description, press "Next Step" on the bottom right hand side. You will not have the opportunity to review your order to make sure everything is set up properly. Once you deem that everything is correct, press "Save" on the bottom right hand side to complete your offer.

Note: Your Sell Offer will only make your data available in the marketplace if you set Activity to Active in Step 6.
