What is User Agent?

User agent is a string of data from a user's device that represents data points like OS, browser, carrier, and hardware.

Overview

User Agent is a software element that identifies types of operating systems, carriers, and hardware information from user devices. UA data is found in two data package types in the Narrative Platform - device characteristics & digital consumption data - and is found in both desktop & mobile environments.

Within Narrative

User Agent is an optional data field in both Device Characteristics and Digital Consumption data types. This data can be effectively used to categorize user devices by carrier & hardware information within an IP address.

Users in the Narrative Platform can choose to include all available User Agent data as part of their overall buy order or enter a specific example(s) of a User Agent to purchase only that type.
